Brockton is long known for its sports teams and athletes. Brockton High School has been a State Champion in a variety of sports X times during the past twenty years.

That competitive nature brings a sprit and sense of community pride that is further driven by the fact that Brockton was the hometown of the Boxing’s undefeated World Heavy Weight Champion Rocky Marciano (49-0) and the Middleweight Champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Campanelli Stadium, a 4500 seat baseball venue, was built in 2002 and has served as the home field for the Brockton Rox baseball team since it first opened. The Stadium also serves as the host for concerts (the B52s, Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan, Def Leppard, Jo Dee Messina, and Big & Rich) and fundraising events such as the annual Field of Screams (haunted house) and the John Waldron Whiffle Ball Tournament. In addition Campanelli Stadium is home field for the Brockton High School Boxers baseball team.

Adjacent to the Stadium is the Shaw’s Center a 12000 square foot function and conference facility. The Shaw’s is a popular venue for business meetings, conferences, fund raisers, family events and celebrations, weddings, and sporting events.
